Reading Reflection

  1. I read about an entrepreneur:
    • It most surprised me that Elon musk once read 60 books in under a month. This fact is very indicative as to who he is as a person and how he values knowledge.
    •  What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?
      • Elon Musk’s motivation in life is to warrant the prosperity of humanity. I really admire this because it’s indicative of my similar life goals.
    • What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?
      • The “success-through determination” approach is good in theory but, it doesn’t necessarily account for unpredictable life events.
  2.  Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?
    • Yes, the book chronicled the adversities Musk experienced with his insecurities with his first wife, Justine Wilson.
  3.  What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
    •  He has a confidence to him in how he carries himself with knowledge and an elaborate plan to how he conducts business and life.
  4.  Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
    • Some of the business and space stuff was a little technical for me.
  5. If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
    • How else do you plan to ensure the prosperity of humanity?
    • Are you friends with Jeff Besos and the Virgin Mobile guy?

  1. Hey Caroline,
I think it's so interesting that Elon Musk read 60 books in a month. I think that is very helpful to understanding how his brain works. Reading is very important to having a balanced mind and a healthy attitude. That is very useful information because I love to read and I don't put enough time into it. I think after reading your book reflection on Elon Musk, I will start to put more time into my reading. That will help me be more creative and a better entrepreneur.
